About
Hello, I'm Danielle.
I've spent my working life around books and around people trying to get somewhere. This is where the two meet.

Books and reading have always been my life blood. I can't imagine not having two or three books on the go at the same time.
Starting my working life as a non-fiction buyer for Heffers Bookshop in Cambridge allowed me to feed that passion. A switch into life on the road as a Publishing Sales Rep for Lonely Planet, amongst others, saw me further immersed in the world of publishing and sales. A couple of redundancies later I moved into Learning and Development roles, eventually retraining as a Pilates teacher and running my own business. But the lure of the book world is strong, and I kept my connections in the industry over the years.
As a business owner interested in personal development, I've read a lot of business books: the good, the bad, and the ones I really wish I hadn't wasted my time on. I've met many wonderful entrepreneurs who know that writing a book could help them achieve their business goals, but who don't know where to start, what to write about, or whether they have it in them. (Hint: they do.) That's why I created Emmer Publishing, to bring the specialists together to work with them on getting their ideas down on paper, and to use my own skills in support and accountability. I truly believe that self-publishing, and the control it gives you over what you write and what you do with that writing, is the best route for most business owners.
What I do
- I make sure this is the right route for you
- I provide structure and accountability
- I connect you with the specialists to get your ideas into print
What I don't do
- I don't write your book for you
- I don't market it, promote it, or get it into bookshops
- I don't believe in using AI to write books
Three ways to work with me
Depending on how much of the process you'd like to hand over.
